If you haven’t discovered the whimsical work of Emma Fitzgerald I encourage you to visit her artist site or explore her popular Hand Drawn Halifax (2015) and more recent children’s book EveryBody’s Different on EveryBody Street (2018).

On Saturday I had the pleasure of attending a sketching workshop taught by Emma and hosted by the Atlantic School of Theology. The workshop was light, friendly, and Emma’s feedback and guidance was invaluable. A good portion of the workshop was spent sketching the Atlantic School of Theology’s beautiful “1898” building. Above is a rough sketch I did of just a section of the building’s front using ink and watercolour.
