While I like the uncertainty and speed tied to drawing with a pen, I do appreciate the greater flexibility that comes with putting down layouts in pencil before I introduce ink. The drawings above and below took a little more time than usual, but it was worth it since I achieved the greater degree of realism I was aiming for after applying ink over accurate pencil layouts.
